Memorial Day is right around the corner! Observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Originally known as Decoration Day, it was first observed in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. People will visit cemeteries or memorials, hold family gatherings, and participate in their local parade. Unofficially, it marks the beginning of the summer season. Woohoo!
If you’re looking for a new and refreshing drink to enjoy this weekend, say hello to the Tropical Whiskey Sunrise. The start of summer calls for a fruity, yet balanced cocktail that will keep you and your friends refreshed and happy all day long. It is so easy to make and you could even pre-mix the fruity juice concoction by combining the orange, pineapple, and lime juice in a pitcher. Combine three parts Orange Juice, three parts Pineapple Juice to one part Lime Juice. Mix well and then pour 3.5 oz of that over the bourbon and ice and add grenadine to get that beautiful, sunrise-looking color. Garnish with a lime slice and you’re ready to enjoy. Memorial Day 2022 is going to be awesome, cheers!

Tropical Whiskey Sunrise
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz Wheat Penny® Bourbon
- 1 1/2 oz Orange Juice
- 1 1/2 oz Pineapple Juice
- 1/2 oz Lime Juice
- 1/2 oz Grenadine
- Lime slice
Instructions
- In a rocks glass with ice combine Bourbon, Orange Juice, Pineapple Juice, and Lime Juice. Stir.
- Pour the Grenadine Syrup into the middle of the rocks glass.
- Garnish with a lime slice and cherry.
