Iced Bourbon Matcha Latte
If you’ve never heard or seen of matcha, you’re probably not alone. Although, its popularity has been increasing at a high rate because of places like Starbucks, and other tea/coffee shops. Matcha is a finely ground powder of specially grown and processed green tea leaves, traditionally consumed in East Asia. We decided to hop on the matcha bandwagon, we came up with the Iced Bourbon Matcha Latte.
Yes, matcha does make your drink a funky green color, but don’t let that scare you. Just remember, there is some Christmas Bourbon in there. We used Jade Leaf’s Culinary Matcha for this Latte. It is 100% USDA Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder, all-natural and nothing added. Sourced directly from their partner’s farms in Uji and Kagoshima, Japan.
Matcha is said to be very good for you and after doing some research we can confirm that. Thanks to Jade Leaf Matcha and their website, we learned that matcha is rich in antioxidants, supports metabolism, and can be used as a calming energy source. Matcha is also rich in fiber, chlorophyll, and vitamins. This latte is an acquired taste, but we challenge everyone to try it out. Who knows, maybe you’ll love it a whole matcha!
You Will Need:
- 2 oz Christmas Bourbon
- 4 oz Milk
- 1 oz Vanilla Syrup
- 1 tsp Matcha
- Combine milk, bourbon, vanilla syrup, and matcha in a blender.
- Blend on high for at least 30 seconds to ensure the matcha is smooth.
- Pour over ice and dust with cinnamon for garnish.
