Classic Bourbon Old-Fashioned

Some cocktail recipes are best left alone because they have already reached the level of perfection we admire and adore. This is one of those cocktails. That’s why it’s called a Classic. Only made better by using Cleveland Whiskey Black Reserve. And fresh garnishes. Bottoms up.

P.S.  In our collective experience, if you order this cocktail when you’re out on the town, the bartender will think you’re ultra savvy, hip, and glamorous. They’ll probably even toss in a few extra cherries if you ask politely.

You will need:

1/2 tsp Sugar
1 tsp Water
3 dashes Angostura bitters (or your favorite)
2 oz Black Reserve Bourbon
Orange peel
Maraschino Cherry (optional)

Directions:

  1. Stir together Sugar, Water, bitters and Bourbon in a rocks glass till completely dissolved.
  2. Add a block or ball of ice
  3. Twist orange peel to release the orange oil from the skin
  4. Rub the rim of the glass with the orange twist
  5. Garnish with the Cherry.
