Bourbon-Rita Popsicles
We decided to take a different angle on this week’s “cocktail.” Don’t worry, our Bourbon is still involved. There are endless ways to enjoy our homegrown bourbon. I guess you could say, anything is popsicle!
With the weather starting to heat up, we wanted to make something that would relate to this time of the year. Introducing, Bourbon-Rita Popsicles! Everything is fine when there are sunshine and popsicles. Yes, that is a true statement but we have something even better. Everything is GREAT when there are sunshine and Bourbon Popsicles! You can even let them sit out for a bit and enjoy them as a slushie.
These will have you feeling like a kid during summer again. You will then realize that you are grateful that you can indulge in Bourbon and your adult self will meet your kid self and all will be great in your world.
Please be safe and take caution around your children, if you have them. Children love popsicles but these are not kid-friendly.
You Will Need:
- Blender
- Popsicle Tray
- 1/4 cup of Cleveland Whiskey Black Cherry Wood Bourbon
- 1/4 cup Tequila
- 1/4 cup Triple Sec
- 1/3 cup Lime Juice
- 1/3 cup Simple Syrup
- 1.5 cups Ice
- Frozen raspberries and blueberries
Instructions:
- Combine the first 5 ingredients into the blender and puree.
- In the bottom of each Popsicle mold, put a raspberry and a blueberry
- Pour the puree into the Popsicle molds and put the lid on.
- Freeze for 24-36 hours
Measure to see how much your Popsicle mold will hold. Ours was 2 cups and this made enough to have a bourbon-Rita in a glass too! A quick dip into a warm water bath should release your Popsicles.
