Spumoni Old Fashioned
Many cities across the US have an authentic Italian neighborhoods that you can go and enjoy. If you’re from Cleveland or are a frequent visitor, you know that Little Italy on the east side of Cleveland is an area rich with Italian culture and treats. We want to encourage you guys to go out and support one of the many, amazing restaurants or bakeries located in Little Italy. have fun with it, order some authentic Italian takeout and enjoy a Spumoni Old-Fashioned as a treat after the meal. The classic Italian dessert is a staple in any Italian neighborhood, we just decided to turn it into a cocktail instead of a frozen treat.
This drink is nutty, sweet, and tastes very much like a frozen treat. We even included real chocolate and real, chopped-up pistachios! It’s easy, just rim the glass with melted chocolate and dip it into a pile of crushed-up pistachios. Our Wheat Penny 1958 Bourbon gives it that little kick to even out the sweetness.
Spumoni Old Fashioned
Ingredients
- 2 oz Wheat Penny
- 1 oz Cherry Heering
- 1 oz Crème de Cocoa Dark
- 1/2 oz Torani Pistachio Syrup
- 2 T Chocolate Chips
- Pistachio nuts (chopped)
- Toschi Cherries
Instructions
- Prepare a rocks glass by melting the chocolate chips and rimming the glass with the melted chocolate. Then, dip the rim into the chopped Pistachios. Let dry for a minute.
- In a cocktail shaker with ice put the first four ingredients and shake well.
- In the prepared rocks glass, drop a large ice block. Strain the shaker over the large ice cube and garnish with a few Toschi Cherries
